Marseille start new season with a big win: Strasbourg beaten

The new season of the French championship has begun. In the first round, Marseille hosted Strasbourg and defeated them 4–0.

Although the hosts failed to score in the first half, they punished Strasbourg’s defense four times after the break.

1. Gouiri opens the second half with a goal

In the 46th minute, Marseille’s attack paid off. Gouiri opened the scoring to put the hosts ahead.

Soon after, the French club had another chance to score.

2. Marseille extend their lead after the penalty

In the 66th minute, Gouiri converted the penalty to score his second goal. Marseille thus moved 2–0 ahead.

Gouiri became the star of the match by completing his brace.

3. Strasbourg unable to resist until the end

In the closing minutes, Marseille scored twice more.

In the 89th minute, Abdallah made it 3–0. Then, in the sixth minute of added time, Højbjerg put the finishing touch on the match.

Marseille therefore began their new league campaign with a convincing 4–0 victory.
