Kamoliddin Tojiyev speaks openly about disallowed goal and problems

The 18th round of the Super League ended with an unexpected dropped point for Pakhtakor. The Tashkent side hosted Surkhon, but the match ended goalless — 0:0.

The most discussed incident of the match occurred in the final minutes. Pakhtakor found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

Following the decision, head coach Kamoliddin Tojiyev strongly criticized the refereeing decision.

1. “We scored, but I don’t know where they found the offside”

Speaking at the press conference, Tojiyev emphasized that his players had fought until the final whistle.

“It was a good game. We fought until the end and scored. But I don’t know where they found the offside. Once again, we were denied three points.”

According to the coach, there was no offside in the controversial situation.

“There was absolutely no offside. Everyone must have seen it. I thank the boys for fighting until the end.”

2. Tojiyev: “There was no offside in the replay either”

The Pakhtakor coach was also asked after the match whether he had reviewed the controversial incident.

Tojiyev said he had watched the replays and that his opinion had not changed.

“We watched it and saw ourselves on camera. There was absolutely no offside.”

He added that there were also questions about the offside line used by VAR.

3. The main problem — missed chances?

At the press conference, Tojiyev was asked whether the controversial goal would have mattered if Pakhtakor had taken its chances during the 90 minutes.

Tojiyev admitted that the team had created chances but struggled to convert them.

“We created chances but couldn’t turn them into more goals. Every team comes here and fights at 200 percent against us. That is why we also struggle.”

4. Will Pakhtakor play with two strikers?

Journalists also asked about the possibility of fielding two center-forwards at the same time.

The head coach said the team had other options for strengthening its attack.

“Even if we don’t play two strikers, we have an attacking player. He also counts as a second striker.”

5. For now, Tojiyev is thinking only about Dinamo

Pakhtakor face a packed schedule of important matches. The team will first play Dinamo and then meet Neftchi in the Uzbek Cup.

However, Tojiyev said he was not thinking about the upcoming opponents yet.

“Right now, we are thinking only about Dinamo. We will prepare for the match against Neftchi later.”

6. Saudi stars do not scare Pakhtakor

The AFC Champions League draw confirmed that Pakhtakor Saudi Arabia’sstrong and star-studded teams.

Tojiyev welcomed the outcome.

“The stars are coming, and we will play against them. On the contrary, it is good. It will be more interesting to play against strong opponents.”

In the coach’s view, such matches will be interesting not only for the team but also for the fans.

7. More is still expected from the new players

Tojiyev also discussed the condition of the new players. He said some of them had not yet reached full fitness.

Murtazo did not feature after suffering a minor injury, while Ayman has not yet reached optimal form after recently returning from injury.

“Ayman has just recovered from injury. He was not up to full speed today. They are good footballers and will help us with their performances.”

What awaits Pakhtakor after the controversial goal?

The disallowed goal against Surkhon became another controversial episode for Pakhtakor. However, the Tashkent side must now put the match behind them and focus on the important game against Dinamo.

After that, they face Neftchi in the Uzbek Cup. Kamoliddin Tojiyev believes his team will be ready for the challenges ahead despite strong opponents and a congested schedule.
