OnePlus halts OxygenOS updates

OnePlus has temporarily suspended several OxygenOS updates following serious user complaints. The issue concerns firmware versions 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX, where users reported spontaneous device reboots and system boot failures. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

In an official forum post, the company stated that this decision was made to maintain device stability and protect users who have not yet installed the update. It is not yet clear which smartphone models are most affected or how widespread the issue is.

OnePlus representatives stated that the rollout will resume only after the bugs are fixed and the updates undergo additional testing. However, no specific release date for the patched version has been set.

The company apologized to users for the inconvenience. OnePlus also announced that it is reviewing its internal software testing and quality control procedures to prevent such incidents in the future.
