Uzbekistan is preparing to restrict large purchases using cash, reported Uz24.uz. According to Mubin Mirzayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee, a draft presidential decree has been developed to combat the shadow economy. The plan promotes cashless transactions.
Key points of the plan:
. Major purchases, such as real estate and vehicles, will gradually be moved to cashless payment only.
. In the first stage, all real estate transactions will be required to be non-cash.
Mirzayev noted that most property sales and purchases are currently done in cash or through third-party payment systems. The new project aims to legalize these transactions through official bank channels and introduce incentive mechanisms.
Such plans were already mentioned last spring, when authorities proposed moving all housing and car deals to cashless payments. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
