Uzbekistan Establishes Diplomatic Relations with Eritrea
Uzbekistan and Eritrea have established diplomatic relations. This was reported by Eritrea’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

It was noted that on July 11, a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Eritrea was signed.

The document was signed on behalf of the governments of both countries by Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Eritrea’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Sophia Tesfamariam.

For reference, Eritrea is a country located in the northeast of the African continent, along the Red Sea, bordering Sudan, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

This country became the 161st with which Uzbekistan has officially established interstate relations. The 160th was Côte d’Ivoire, a West African nation.
