
Uzbekistan has officially decided to cancel the capital city residence registration system, reported UPL.
The law passed in 2011, which restricted citizens from other regions from settling in Tashkent and Tashkent region without permanent registration, has now been repealed. The cancellation will take effect on October 11, 2025.
Previously, people from other provinces were not allowed to buy property or get a job in the capital without a local residence permit. Many had to apply for temporary registration to live in Tashkent.
In recent years, authorities allowed citizens to purchase property and work in Tashkent without registration. Now, these restrictions have been officially lifted. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
