Alisher Kadyrov expressed views about Jennifer Lopez

Chairman of the “Milliy Tiklanish” party Alisher Qodirov shared his views on the concept of secularism, its essence, and its application in society. According to him, as a secular state, Uzbekistan allows citizens to live freely as long as they do not break the law, and people of all views have equal rights.

Qodirov noted that drinking alcohol or abstaining from it is a personal choice, but advertising alcoholic beverages is prohibited by law. He added that cultural events are also an expression of secularism. For example, he referred to Jennifer Lopez’s concert, saying that her choice of clothing and the decision to attend the event are personal matters.

The politician stressed that the rights of women wearing headscarves should also be protected by law: “Let’s show the same tolerance to religious women as we do to Lopez. The practice of forcing women to remove their headscarves for passport photos should stop, because identification is done through the face, not the hair.”
