According to Decision No. 543 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 28, 2025, an important benefit has been introduced for certain categories of internal affairs officers who have served effectively for many years and retired, as well as for their family members. In accordance with this decision, service housing previously allocated to them for temporary use during their service is being officially transferred into their private ownership at the expense of the state.
This news, first and foremost, brings significant social change to the lives of those officers who, during their professional careers, served to ensure the country's security and public peace, but did not have their own housing. According to the decision, internal affairs retirees who fully completed their service before July 4, 2022, or who were transferred to the reserve or retired due to health issues during their service, have the right to benefit from this arrangement.
Most importantly, this opportunity applies not only to former officers but also to their close relatives, i.e., their family members. If they do not have private residential property registered in their name, they too can benefit from this privilege. This is, in turn, a clear example of the state’s social support for its citizens.
Additionally, this right is extended to the family members of deceased officers and internal affairs retirees. They will also be provided with housing under this benefit. The decision emphasizes that the residential properties will be officially registered as private ownership at the expense of the state. This is not only material support, but also an expression of high recognition and respect.
