Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives International Peace Prize

A solemn ceremony was held in Moscow on the occasion of the birthday of the great writer and philosopher Leo Tolstoy. The winners of the L.N. Tolstoy Second International Peace Prize of 2025 were announced.

According to the voting results, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were recognized as laureates of this prestigious award.

Announcing the fair decision, the chairman of the jury, artistic director and general director of the Mariinsky Theater, as well as the head of the Moscow Grand Theater, Valery Gergiev, noted: "This decision was made unanimously."

According to the organizing committee, the heads of these states were awarded this prize for their personal initiatives and practical efforts to strengthen peace and security in the Central Asian region. In particular, on March 31, 2025, an agreement on the border between Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan was signed, which put a legal end to the issue that had not been resolved for many years.

This not only ensured the clear delineation of common borders, but was also assessed as an important step in strengthening mutual trust and cooperation between neighboring peoples, guaranteeing stability and security in the region.
