The Central Bank imposed penalties on 9 banks.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during its meetings in August 2025, considered a number of important issues regarding the activities of banks and financial institutions. A total of 51 issues were discussed at the meetings of the Central Bank's Banking Supervision Committee, and specific decisions were made on them.

According to the data, 32 issues were considered in the field of registration and issuance of various permits. In particular, work was carried out on the registration of amendments to the charters of commercial banks and credit organizations, the registration of new microfinance organizations, the exclusion of certain organizations from the register, and the issuance of certificates for the right to conduct audits in banks. Candidates for the Supervisory Board and Board of Directors of the bank were also considered.

In addition, 19 issues related to the financial stability of credit institutions and compliance with legislative requirements were discussed. In particular, a decision was made to take measures and apply sanctions against 14 banks and 2 payment organizations for non-fulfillment of schedules for the recovery of problem loans and reduction of their balance, as well as for non-compliance with the identified shortcomings and rules in some banks.

Also, due to non-compliance with the requirements of the law, including the rules of the Central Bank for combating the legalization of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism, penalties were imposed on 9 banks, 6 microfinance organizations, and 4 pawnshops.

One of the most important issues was the revocation of the license of one bank that did not comply with the minimum requirements for the formation of authorized capital.
