Mirziyoyev in Gabala: working visits and meetings before the OTS summit

On October 6, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Gabala on a working visit at the invitation of the head of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. At the Gabala International Airport, the head of our state was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Odil Karimli, the head of the executive branch of the Gabala district, Sabuhi Abdullayev, and a number of officials.

Within the framework of the visit, issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, accelerating cooperation projects, and expanding regional ties are expected to be discussed. In particular, joint programs in the field of industrial cooperation, transport and logistics (opportunities of the Middle Corridor), energy, "green" projects, digitalization, and cultural and humanitarian spheres will be discussed.

According to the official program, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the events of the Organization of Turkic States summit on October 7. Within the framework of the summit, a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of ADB countries will be held, and agreements on increasing mutual trade turnover and investment cooperation will be signed.

In recent years, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have demonstrated stable growth rates in terms of trade volume, the number of joint ventures, and logistics routes. This visit to Gabala is assessed as the next step towards enriching the high-level political dialogue with practical results.
