Turkic states sign treaty of eternal friendship

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala.

In his speech, the head of state put forward a number of initiatives:

- In order to coordinate approaches to regional and global security issues, it was proposed to hold the first joint meeting of the heads of the OTS foreign ministers and special services in Samarkand;

- He supported the early adoption of the Treaty on Strategic Partnership, Eternal Friendship and Brotherhood and initiated the development of the Strategy for the Development of the Organization of Turkic States until 2030;

- He proposed to create a Permanent Council for Economic Cooperation of Turkic States and to locate its Project Office in Tashkent;

- He put forward an initiative to form a space of new economic opportunities and create the Industrial Alliance of Turkic States, the "Turkic Green Corridors" system, and the "Green Transformation" consortium;

- Proposed to create an Expert Group on Organic Agriculture and bring a single brand of Turkish organic products to the world market;

- Supported the development of the Middle Corridor and its connection with the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Trans-Afghan corridor projects, emphasized the importance of digitalization of customs procedures and optimization of tariffs;

- He recommended expanding the activities of the Turkic Investment Fund and adopting a cooperation program with international and national financial institutions;

- He put forward the idea of adopting a "road map" on artificial intelligence and a creative economy and holding the International Exhibition of the Turkic World in Uzbekistan;

- Proposed to develop an action plan to counter extremist and radical ideology and joint measures to improve the environmental literacy of youth;

- In 2026, he put forward an initiative to hold an international conference on "The Works of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi - In the Spiritual Life of the Turkic World."

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also announced the establishment of the International University of Turkic States in Uzbekistan, which will become a platform for joint research and innovation.
