The Republic of Uzbekistan has signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with the US company Palo Alto Networks, one of the world's leaders in the field of cybersecurity. The main focus of the cooperation is aimed at strengthening protection against cyber threats by integrating advanced artificial intelligence-based technologies into the country's digital infrastructure.
This agreement was reached as a result of Uzbekistan's government delegation's visit to the United States. The delegation included the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and the Minister of Investments Laziz Kudratov.
During the visit, negotiations were held with Daniel Kroes, Vice President of Government and Public Policy at Palo Alto Networks. At the meeting, specific steps for strengthening Uzbekistan's digital security potential were discussed.
The parties reviewed in detail the issues of implementing modern systems to protect data and ensure digital stability in the public and private sectors. In particular, it is planned to use advanced systems based on artificial intelligence—algorithms capable of detecting and neutralizing cyber threats in real time—as well as encryption technologies.
The cooperation is not limited to supplying technologies; it also includes launching comprehensive cybersecurity programs. Within these programs, consultations will be conducted and experience will be exchanged between American and Uzbek specialists.
In addition, special attention will be paid to training and improving the qualifications of local personnel in digital security, incident response, and threat analysis. This will help create a base of highly qualified specialists in Uzbekistan who can work with modern protection technologies.
During the negotiations, the issue of assessing the technical safety and compliance of local startup projects with global standards was also discussed. This agreement is part of Uzbekistan's broader strategy to attract leading international IT companies.
Previously, the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held negotiations with the leadership of the US Wersirius logistics company and the AMALT association, discussing the opening of operational centers and the implementation of new programs in Uzbekistan.
