The government of Uzbekistan plans to ban the use of highly flammable materials on the exterior walls of buildings. This was announced on December 1 at a meeting chaired by the president on environmental sustainability, preparation for the winter season, and fire safety.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for a full study of the fire safety situation in more than 44,000 multi-story buildings in Uzbekistan. He also noted that the emergency response system must be prepared for problems related to fire hazards.
The President emphasized the need to introduce strict requirements into legislation prohibiting the use of highly flammable materials on the exterior walls of buildings. This measure provides for the adaptation of building codes and fire safety regulations in multi-story buildings to international practice.
It was also instructed to strengthen the responsibility of responsible managers and develop a draft law. This innovation will be an important step towards ensuring safety in buildings and increasing the safety of citizens.
