As the New Year holiday approaches, traffic will be temporarily restricted in a number of regions in order to hold high-level events in the capital, ensure public safety, and strengthen public order. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent city administration.
The restrictions will last from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026. During this period, the square in front of the National Library of Uzbekistan will be closed in the following directions:
- Zarafshan Street: section between the security post of the Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel and Matbuotchilar Street;
- Istiqlol Street: section between A. Temur Shah and Buyuk Turon streets;
- Buyuk Turon Street: The section from the intersection of Istiqlol Street to the Youth Creativity Palace.
Also, from December 17, 2025 to January 5, 2026, traffic restrictions will be introduced on the gastronomic-tourist street of Taras Shevchenko:
- Taras Shevchenko Street: from Fidokor Street to Nukus Street;
- Sayyid Baraka Street: from Oybek Street to Amir Temur Avenue.
The city administration apologized to the residents for the temporary inconvenience and recommended that drivers plan their routes in advance.
