Unexpected snowfall in Jizzakh in the middle of spring

Today, April 16, snow fell in the Suffa area of Zomin district, Jizzakh region, despite the spring season. This was reported by “Uzgidromet”.

According to the information, from 09:45, moderate snowfall was observed in the Suffa area of Zomin district, at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level. The snow depth reached 2 centimeters.

It is noted that no losses or emergency situations were recorded due to this weather condition.

The geographic coordinates of the location are recorded as 39°37ʼ36.4 north latitude and 68°28ʼ19.5 east longitude.

Meteorologists state that such conditions are sometimes natural in mountainous areas even during spring months.
