Warning issued for rain and flood risks in Uzbekistan

Uzhydromet has released the weather forecast for May 12. According to the report, dry and relatively warm weather will persist in most parts of the country. Short-term rain is possible in some mountainous and valley areas.

In Tashkent, the weather will be changeable throughout the day, with no precipitation expected. Temperatures will be around 13-15 degrees at night, rising to 25-27 degrees during the day.

Dry weather will also persist in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region. In some places, wind speeds may increase, and dust storms may occur. Daytime temperatures will reach up to 28 degrees.

No precipitation is expected in the Bukhara and Navoi regions. The easterly wind may strengthen in some areas. Daytime temperatures will rise to 30 degrees.

Mainly dry and warm weather is also forecast for the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions.

In the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, temperatures will be relatively higher, potentially reaching 33 degrees during the day.

In the Fergana Valley regions—Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana—there is a possibility of short-term rain and thunderstorms in some places.

Experts warn that the risk of flash floods remains in foothill and mountainous areas due to rain. Therefore, citizens are urged to be cautious.
