Uzbekistan-Brazil Cooperation Reaches a New Level

Another important and promising dialogue has taken place in Uzbekistan's foreign policy. On May 12, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, who arrived in our country on an official visit. The meeting was of great importance for further strengthening relations between the two countries and taking mutual trust and practical cooperation to a new, higher level.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed in detail the expansion of multifaceted ties between Uzbekistan and Brazil, the effective use of existing opportunities, and the enrichment of cooperation with concrete projects. The sides noted the importance of activating political dialogue, establishing systematic high-level contacts, and further revitalizing inter-parliamentary relations.

Strengthening economic cooperation was one of the main focuses of the meeting. Ideas were exchanged on increasing trade volume, expanding ties between entrepreneurs, and creating new opportunities for business circles. It was emphasized that both countries have great potential in this area and that the time has come to turn these opportunities into practical results.

Special attention was also paid to promoting joint projects in the chemical industry, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, and other key industrial sectors. These areas are important not only for economic benefit but also for creating new jobs, exchanging technologies, and developing production chains.

The meeting also reviewed prospects for cooperation in agriculture, selection, tourism, and sports. Brazil is one of the countries with extensive experience in agriculture and sports. Uzbekistan has been actively implementing reforms in these areas in recent years. Thus, there is ample opportunity for both sides to exchange experience and implement joint initiatives.

To systematically implement the set goals and tasks, it was proposed to establish an Intergovernmental Commission. This commission could serve to develop future cooperation between the two countries through practical projects, specific agreements, and constant dialogue.

The parties also exchanged views on current international issues. Additionally, the agenda for future planned events and dialogues was discussed.

Overall, the meeting between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Mauro Vieira is assessed as an important diplomatic step that could open a new chapter in Uzbekistan-Brazil relations. Most importantly, this dialogue is expected not to be limited to dry statements but to pave the way for concrete economic, political, and cultural results in the future.
