Razer Introduces First Gaming Keyboards with Magnetic Switches

Famous gaming gear manufacturer Razer has announced its new Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic keyboard series, equipped with Hall Effect magnetic switches for the first time in its history. According to Ixbt.com, although these devices are the company's first products based on magnetic technology, they are not absolute speed record holders, with a latency of 0.60 ms. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
It turns out that currently, analog optical switch keyboards produced by Razer demonstrate a 0.48 ms result under the same testing conditions, leading in speed. Nevertheless, the new line is designed to attract gamers' attention with its advanced control capabilities and customization convenience.
Model Lineup and Technical Capabilities
The new series includes two wired models: the Tenkeyless (TKL) without a numeric keypad and the compact Mini 65% format. Both devices operate at an 8000 Hz polling rate and are equipped with Razer Hall Effect Magnetic Switches, which register keystrokes without physical contact by detecting changes in the magnetic field.Users can independently adjust the actuation distance of the keys in a range from 0.1 to 4 mm based on their needs. The manufacturer guarantees a lifespan of 100 million keystrokes for these switches.
Advanced Control Functions
Razer has paid special attention not just to speed in the new device, but also to functions that make gameplay more comfortable. In particular, the Rapid Trigger Mode function allows stopping processing immediately as the key begins to rise. The keyboard also features the following advanced capabilities:
- Snap Tap — automatically prioritizes the last press between paired keys (e.g., A and D) when changing direction in a game.
- Snap Flex — allows binding one action to pressing a key and another to releasing it.
- Dynamic Keystroke — has the ability to trigger up to 4 actions at different actuation depths of a single key.
- Instant Cancel Control — equipped with a system to cancel the next action before it activates.
Body Construction and Pricing Policy
The device body is made of aviation-grade aluminum, and the keycaps are made of textured PBT plastic through a double-shot injection molding process. The switches are factory-lubricated and mounted on a thick foam layer to reduce noise. At the same time, they do not support hot-swapping.According to Ixbt.com, the prices for the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic devices start at $119.99 for the Mini 65% version and $139.99 for the Tenkeyless model. With this, Razer offers users magnetic technology and advanced input settings.
