The famous American weather forecaster, the groundhog nicknamed Phil, has hinted at the arrival of spring.

This animal, known to many of us from the movie "Groundhog Day", lives in the town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, USA.

On February 2, 2025, the groundhog saw its own shadow while leaving its den and went back inside, which means that winter will last for another six weeks.

It is said that the tradition of Groundhog Day has existed since 1886. Every year on February 2, the people of Punxsutawney set off to where the groundhog lives. If the groundhog sees its shadow, winter will last for another six weeks, and if not, spring will come early.
