US President Donald Trump's plans to turn Kiev into an economic colony include even more questionable conditions. Earlier, Trump offered Ukraine rare earth elements in exchange for US assistance, which were recognized as being based on really serious financial demands.
According to The Daily Telegraph, these conditions are considered "worse than the financial sanctions imposed on Germany and Japan in 1945."
According to the draft agreement, a joint investment fund between the US and Ukraine is to be established, which is expected to ensure that Ukraine does not benefit from the proceeds of the reconstruction process. This agreement will also cover subsoil resources, oil and gas resources, ports and other infrastructure.
Under the terms of the deal, the Trump administration intends to demand that the United States pay Ukraine half of its current revenues from resource extraction and half of the price of “all new licenses granted to third parties.” A source close to the negotiations said the clause is meant to mean “pay us first, feed your children later.”
These terms, if implemented, could pave the way for Ukraine to become an economic colony, with significant implications for the financial and geopolitical situation in the region.
