According to NBC News, Russia has offered the administration of US President Donald Trump the possibility of acquiring mineral resources, including rare metals, located in some of the annexed territories of Ukraine.

According to sources, senior aides to Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the issue with representatives of the Trump administration during a meeting in Saudi Arabia.

According to American officials, the main issue is likely to be access to mineral deposits in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions, which Russia has declared as “new territories.”
