Russian Armed Forces units have seized the main supply routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.

The British newspaper The Telegraph, citing sources and analysts in Ukraine, reported that the Ukrainian military is in danger of being encircled, with up to 10,000 soldiers potentially in critical condition.

A junior sergeant in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who gave a telephone interview, said:
"The leadership believes that it is necessary to withdraw troops from the Kursk region, otherwise the losses of personnel may increase even more. The risk of encirclement is really very serious."

According to a report by analysts of the Ukrainian military project Deepstate, 3/4 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the region are at risk. According to maps, most of them are almost completely surrounded by the Russian Armed Forces, and the units are divided into small groups.

The remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces forces on the outskirts of Russia are connected by a corridor only 1 km long and 500 m wide, but this area is also under fire from Russian drones.

At the same time, the Russian army is trying to seize the strategic road from Yunakovka in the Sumy region to the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian Center for Combating Disinformation, Russian forces are actively trying to take control of this road and completely surround Ukrainian forces.

Russian army attacks the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region

The Russian army has launched a direct attack on the city of Sudzha. If this attack is successful, the Kursk region will return to full Russian control.

According to the Telegram channel "Upravlenie Z", the military operation to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the border has reached its final stage. Recall that the Ukrainian army occupied the city of Sudzha in August 2024.

Now, after long preparations, Russian forces are pushing out enemy positions. Attacks are being carried out from several directions around the city.

At the same time, the Ukrainian army is deploying territorial defense units to replace its elite 95th Airborne Assault Brigade. This indicates that the Ukrainian army is weakening.

Currently, Russian airborne forces are located a few kilometers from the city of Sudzha. They managed to break through Ukrainian defenses in the area of ​​​​the villages of Mala Loknya and Russkoye Porechnoye.

Ukraine is shelling Russian territories with drones

The Ukrainian army continues to attack important Russian infrastructure with drones.

On the night of March 8, the Kirishinefteorgsintez oil refinery in the Leningrad region was attacked by drones.

According to the regional governor, Alexander Drozdenko, the Russian air defense system shot down the first drone that approached the plant, and the second drone was destroyed over the plant's territory.

The drone fragments damaged the exterior of the tank, but no one was injured.

"The drone attack on the Kirishinefte plant was repelled. There were no casualties," Drozdenko said.

Ukrainian drones attack various regions of Russia

Rostov region: On the night of March 8, the Russian air defense system shot down Ukrainian drones in the Millerovo and Chertkovsky districts.

Bryansk region: Six jet drones attacked the city of Starodub. According to the local governor, Alexander Bogomaz, one woman was injured.

A fire broke out at a local enterprise, and residents of nearby houses had to be evacuated.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 43 Ukrainian army drones were shot down on the night of March 8. Including:

21 drones in the Krasnodar Territory,

9 drones in the Bryansk Region,

4 drones in the Rostov Region,

2 drones in the Belgorod Region,

1 drone in the Kursk Region.

In addition, 6 drones were destroyed over the Sea of ​​Azov.

Ukraine attacks Russian gas platforms with new type of drone boats

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Russian gas production facilities with a new type of drone boats called "Katran-Venom".

According to former military pilot Ilya Tumanov, this battle took place live online. The Russian naval forces actively defended the facility.

According to Tumanov, the Katran-Venom is 9 meters long and can carry several small drones or two torpedoes. It is controlled via Starlink and can pose a serious threat to Russian military infrastructure.

Russian army launches missile strikes on Odessa region

On the evening of March 7, the Russian Armed Forces struck energy infrastructure facilities in the Odessa region.

According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, as a result of the strikes, a fire broke out at a large industrial facility and a gas station was damaged.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, since the beginning of March, the Russian Armed Forces have intensified attacks on the Ukrainian energy system.
