Zelensky opposes territorial division

During his conversation with Trump, the Ukrainian president said he did not support the proposal to end the war along the current line of contact. “There are regions, cities and towns that are crossed by various communication lines. If we leave these lines, they will turn into lifeless areas,” Zelensky said. He compared the situation to the Berlin Wall and asked, “Do we want new Berlins?”

The issue of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

During the conversation, Zelensky said that he had also discussed the possibility of transferring the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which is under Russian control, to the United States. According to him, Kiev is ready to make an agreement on this if Washington agrees to modernize the plant and provide it with technical specialists.

Ukraine will try to protect its territorial integrity

According to Zelensky, he told Donald Trump that Ukraine would do everything possible to preserve its territorial integrity. “We will protect Ukraine in this matter as much as possible. But this will be a very difficult process for us,” the president said.

It was also mentioned that there are countries that could deploy their troops in Ukraine. “There are those who are ready to be on the border, those who want to be in dangerous places. We need to develop a common vision,” Zelensky said.
