US President Donald Trump was outraged by the leak of information on US strikes in Yemen as part of the operation against the Houthis on the Signal messenger. The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal writes about this, citing sources.
“Trump expressed his displeasure over the incident in private, said people familiar with his thinking, but he made a strategic decision to hide his anger and not say a word in public,” the newspaper reports.
Trump adopted the strategy of “attacking the credibility” of The Atlantic magazine and its editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg.
This week, it was reported that senior officials in the administration of US President Donald Trump leaked details of a planned military operation in Yemen in a closed group on the messenger Signal.
Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was reportedly accidentally added to the chat and overheard the discussion of classified information. The Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and other top US officials were also involved in the correspondence.
