Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint press conference with the President of the Republic of South Africa that any peace treaty to end the war with Russia must not contradict the Constitution of Ukraine. According to Zelensky, the new proposals discussed in London are being considered by US President Donald Trump.
“I think that a document in this format is on Trump’s desk. Conditions that contradict the Constitution of Ukraine and our national values should not be included in any agreement,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian President said that a new proposal has been developed that is an alternative to the US plan to recognize the Crimean peninsula as part of Russia. He noted that constructive talks were held in London with representatives of Ukraine and European countries, as well as the US delegation.
According to RBC-Ukraine, the "special document" agreed upon at the London meeting was taken to Washington by the US President's special representative for Russia and Ukraine, Kate Kellogg. This document reflects the unified position of France, Great Britain, Germany and Ukraine on ending the war.
It should be recalled that on April 23, negotiations were held in London with the participation of representatives of Ukraine, Great Britain, France and Germany. The participants expressed their loyalty to US President Donald Trump's peace efforts and agreed to hold regular consultations in the future.
During the negotiations, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was supposed to present Trump's peace plan to Kiev and European allies. However, Rubio refused to participate in this meeting after Zelensky said that Ukraine would not officially recognize the occupation of Crimea. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
