The Director-General of the Gaza Health Ministry, Munir al-Bursh, announced that Israel is artificially blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into the territory. According to him, due to the barriers set up by the Israeli government, about 3,000 trucks carrying medical aid and medicines are currently parked in the Egyptian city of Arish and are not being allowed to enter the Gaza Strip.
Munir al-Bursh issued a special statement on his social media page on this issue, in which he sharply stated that the current situation poses a serious threat to the lives of the people of Gaza, and that Israel, with the support of the United States, is committing "murders" against civilians in the region.
Medical facilities in Gaza have already reached the "brink of disaster", and the shortage of medicines, medical equipment and even the most necessary vaccines is putting the population in a difficult situation. Al-Bursh noted that the lack of medical supplies in Gaza has increased the risk of various infectious diseases and epidemics. In particular, acute diarrhea and meningitis are spreading rapidly among the population. At the same time, more than 90 percent of the Gaza population does not have access to clean drinking water, which is causing an even more serious water crisis.
Munir al-Bursh also strongly criticized Israel's recently introduced "new mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid." He called this system a tool aimed at mass killings of civilians and the forced displacement of Gazans from their homes. The introduction of this mechanism is accompanied by an increase in the use of force and threats against the population. This further worsens the situation of the Gazan population and keeps them in constant danger.
According to the press office of the Gaza government, at least 49 Palestinian civilians were killed and 305 others injured as a result of attacks on aid distribution points since May 27. In particular, 32 people died and more than 250 people were injured as a result of mass attacks in Gaza and Rafah regions on June 1.
In total, since October 7, 2023, the total number of people killed in military operations targeting the Gaza Strip by Israel is 54,418. Another 124,190 people were injured in various degrees and their number is increasing day by day.
The international community and human rights organizations strongly condemn this situation and try to put pressure on the Israeli government. However, these efforts have not yielded significant results so far. Some analysts believe that such harsh measures taken by Israel against the people of Gaza are contrary to international law on peace and human rights and are further deepening the humanitarian crisis.
Munir al-Bursh and the Gaza leadership are demanding that the international community urgently intervene in this situation and create conditions for the entry of trucks into Gaza. They believe that if urgent measures are not taken to address the current crisis in Gaza, the situation will worsen and the number of civilian casualties may increase.
Today, the severity of the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to attract the attention of the international community. However, if drastic measures are not taken to address this situation, the likelihood of a real humanitarian catastrophe in the future in this region is very high. International organizations and responsible representatives of humanity are required to act together to address this crisis.
The most important question now is: when and how will the difficult situation of the people of Gaza be resolved? The answer to this question depends on the degree to which the international community is committed to the principles of humanity and justice. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
