An application combining messengers and government services will be created in Russia

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted a law on the creation of a new national platform that will unite digital communication and public services in the country. This platform will not only perform the function of a simple messenger, but will also allow citizens to safely and easily access government and commercial services. Officials are evaluating this innovation as an important step towards strengthening Russia's digital sovereignty and information security.

The new platform will provide direct and secure digital communication between state and municipal agencies, educational institutions of various levels, businesses and citizens. In addition, users will be able to electronically sign various applications and documents, confirm their personal data, age or privileges. The new digital platform will also consolidate all types of educational services, school and university chats.

According to the Minister of Digital Development of Russia, Maksut Shadayev, this system can be integrated with the popular state portal "Gosuslugi" and create new conveniences for the country's large population. In this regard, the statements made at the end of May indicate that the application will be developed on the basis of a new universal platform called “Max”. Max is an innovative project created by VK, which includes a messenger, social network, search engine, electronic payments, ticket booking, doctor’s appointment and even food ordering.

Journalists are comparing this project to the popular Chinese application WeChat. WeChat is known all over the world as a multifunctional super-application. Users communicate in it, use public services, make money transfers and have access to almost all the services necessary for everyday life. However, WeChat has also been repeatedly accused of censorship and surveillance.

The new digital service platform in Russia, first of all, considers information security and the protection of personal data to be a priority. The security service and special control bodies monitor all the functions of the application. This approach will serve to protect citizens' personal data, ensure digital sovereignty, and accelerate the process of digitization.

According to the adopted law, users of public services will now be able to verify all necessary documents through a single application, have access to electronic identification, automatic age and benefits determination, online consultations, and many other conveniences. The system is expected to be particularly effective in the areas of distance learning, online business, and e-government.

Thus, the idea of ​​creating a new digital platform in Russia that combines messengers, social networks, government, and commercial services is being implemented.
