A tragic accident occurred in the skies of the Indian state of Uttarakhand on the morning of June 14 - a helicopter belonging to the private airline Aryan Airlines crashed while flying from Kedarnath to Guptkarshi. According to official data, seven people on board died. This was reported by the Times of India, citing sources.
The initial cause of the crash is considered to be adverse weather conditions. It is believed that heavy rain and fog limited the effective flight of the helicopter. Rescue services and police teams are currently working at the scene. Search and evacuation of the injured are ongoing.
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and announced that he had instructed all relevant services to take active measures:
“The news of the helicopter crash is very sad. All local authorities and rescue teams have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences of this tragedy,” he said in a statement.
This incident is not the first tragedy in the Indian aviation sector in recent weeks. On June 12, an Air India plane with 242 passengers on board crashed into the building of a medical college in Ahmedabad. Unfortunately, only one person survived. This terrible incident caused a lot of discussion throughout the country.
Air India management announced a compensation of 10 million rupees (about 117 thousand US dollars) to the families of the deceased. The only injured survivor was promised medical and material assistance.
Indian authorities have announced that after these two crashes, they have launched an active campaign to strictly inspect the technical condition of all aviation equipment, especially helicopters and airplanes, review the safety conditions established for flights, and strengthen control.
To prevent such tragedies from recurring, safety must come first. After all, every flight costs a human life. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
