The tensions between Iran, Israel and the US are becoming increasingly serious. Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin once again firmly stated his position during a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. According to Putin, any military aggression against Iran carried out without any reason cannot be justified on any basis. He said that such actions are absolutely contrary to international law.
“There is no basis or justification for any unprovoked aggression against Iran,” Putin said.
As Putin emphasized, the entire region and surrounding environment are currently in a sharp and unstable situation. During negotiations with Araqchi, who visited Iran, the Russian leader reminded that Russia has a clear and open position on this situation, and that this view is being firmly defended both on the international stage and in the UN Security Council.
“Our view on the events is well known, it has been clearly stated and expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on behalf of Russia. Also, you are aware of the position we have taken in the UN Security Council,” Putin said.
On the night of June 22, the US army struck Iran’s most important nuclear facilities. After this attack, US President Donald Trump called on Iran to refrain from harsh retaliation and resolve all differences through diplomatic means. According to Trump, uranium enrichment centers were “completely destroyed,” but Tehran denied this claim and stated that the American strikes had been ineffective.
In the following days, the conflict between Israel and Iran intensified even further. Israel accused Iran of running a secret military-nuclear program and launched a large-scale operation on June 13. As part of the operation, nuclear facilities, high-ranking military officials, air bases, and defense systems were targeted. Iran, in turn, denies these accusations, and the international agency IAEA also stated that there is no clear evidence of nuclear weapons production in the country.
The most tragic thing is that both sides have repeatedly carried out mutual attacks using rockets and drones. As a result, the number of victims and casualties among the civilian population is increasing. According to Iran’s Ministry of Health, more than 220 people have been killed and over 2,800 injured in the country. Additionally, Iran’s ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali reported that the number of victims is approaching 300. In Israel, dozens of people have been killed and more than a thousand injured.
Currently, the conflict between the two countries is intensifying day by day, and both sides continue to respond to each other with threats and strikes instead of restoring stability. Israel has announced that operations will continue until the nuclear program is completely stopped, while Iran has also stated that if attacks on its territory do not stop, it will intensify its strikes.
Thus, a serious threat to global security and peace is emerging. This can lead to dangerous consequences not only for the Middle East, but for the entire world. International experts believe that all parties must choose cooperation and diplomacy in the interests of humanity. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
