According to an Iranian official, Israel will have to pay compensation for the attempted assassination of the country's president, Masoud Pezeshkian. He made this statement in an interview with Al Jazeera TV channel.
President Pezeshkian himself had earlier confirmed that there had been an attempt on his life. The attack took place during a 12-day military conflict. Reportedly, the president was holding a meeting to discuss how to respond to Israeli attacks at that time.
According to media reports, Israeli aviation targeted the building where the Iranian Supreme National Security Council meeting was taking place. Sources likened the operation to the assassination attempt against Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
During the attack, Israeli aircraft struck the entrances and exits of the building, blocking evacuation routes. Officials reportedly managed to escape through the emergency exit. It is said that Pezeshkian sustained a leg injury at that moment.
According to the Iranian official, this attack was part of Israel’s broader plan to undermine the political system within the country.
At the same time, Pezeshkian denied that the United States was involved in this incident. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
