During the Russia–Ukraine war, the schemes of military mobilization and sending mercenaries to the front are becoming more complicated and multifaceted. According to the investigative project “Sistema”, a new volunteer corps called “Dobrokor” has now been established in Russia, where an entirely new mechanism for sending mercenaries to Ukraine is being implemented, reports dw.com.
The “Dobrovolchesky Korpus” (Volunteer Corps), established in 2023, is based on the former private military company “Redut”. Currently, this structure is fully supervised and funded by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the new scheme, recruitment processes are carried out in the “Saint George” brigade, the “Don” Cossack structure, and another 25 units. Their main coordinator is Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev.
According to available information, Dobrokor units are actively participating in almost all main fronts: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, as well as in battles in the Kursk region of Russia.
Recruitment conditions have also changed: men from 18 to 55 years old are accepted for the war, and women from 18 to 45 years old for medical detachments. The recruited undergo special training at a training ground for 10 days to two weeks. The contract is signed for a minimum of six months, but it is also possible to sign for eight months or one year. After the term expires, the contract can be extended or the person can return home from the front.
Most interestingly, members of the Dobrokor corps officially have the right to claim the status of “combat operations veteran”. Experts believe that this scheme may mark a new stage in the mobilization and dispatch of mercenaries to the front in Russia. The public is watching with interest what changes will happen in this direction. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
