Tokyo — the most convenient city for remote work

Japan’s capital, Tokyo, has topped the ranking of cities where remote work and leisure can be combined most effectively. This was reported by TimeOut, citing a study by the International Workplace Group (IWG).

Experts praised the city for its developed public transportation, high-speed internet, and strong safety standards. In addition, Japan recently introduced a special “remote work visa” for foreign professionals, allowing them to stay in the country for up to one year while continuing their activities.

The study also highlighted Tokyo’s proximity to mountains, seaside beaches, and national parks, which makes it possible to balance city life with outdoor recreation.

The list of the most convenient cities for remote work is as follows:

1. Tokyo, Japan,

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,

3. Budapest, Hungary,

4. Seoul, South Korea,

5. Barcelona, Spain,

6. Beijing, China,

7. Lisbon, Portugal,

8. Rome, Italy,

9. Paris, France,

10. Valletta, Malta.

IWG founder Mark Dixon emphasized that remote work helps people maintain a balance between personal life and professional duties while significantly boosting productivity.
