In Pakistan, monsoon rains have once again caused a major disaster. Heavy rainfall left many villages submerged, hundreds of people dead, and thousands of homes destroyed.
The biggest problem was that people were not warned in advance. Rescuers had to work manually without equipment, and in some areas aid did not arrive on time.
Pakistan is one of the countries most affected by climate change. In 2022, a similar flood killed 1,700 people. Experts warn that such rains will only intensify in the future.
But the issue is not only nature. The country’s budget is mostly spent on defense, while very little is allocated to climate problems. As a result, international aid is also not sufficiently mobilized.
In addition, construction continues along riverbanks. Experts warn that if serious measures are not taken, such tragedies will keep happening again and again.
