This prop was used in the episodes “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” and it was handled by David Prowse, who played Darth Vader, as well as his stunt double Bob Anderson.
According to reports, this sword is the only specimen from the original trilogy of the franchise that has been put up for auction.
The auction also saw the sale of Harrison Ford’s whip and belt, used in the film “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. In addition, actor Leonardo DiCaprio purchased for $346,000 the backpack and flamethrower of his character Rick Dalton from the film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”.
