Modern library opens in Warsaw metro

Another unique project was implemented in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to develop culture and reading - a modern library was opened at the metro station.

This cultural center, called "Metroteka," began operations at Konratovicha station, located on the M2 route in the Targuvek district. The main goal of the project is to distance city residents and metro passengers from smartphones, make them interested in reading books, and create opportunities for them to relax and spend time in a cultural environment.

The library consists of two sections - separate reading areas for adults and children. A separate space has also been allocated for mass reading and cultural events. The Metrotheka Library, with a total area of 150 square meters, has approximately 16,000 books.

All books are provided "express" through special contactless chips. After reading the books, you can return them to the same place or to a special 24-hour receiving box.

Visitors to the metro are given the opportunity not only to read a book, but also to temporarily buy a laptop, use the internet, work in a quiet, noisy environment, and even relax with free coffee and hot chocolate.

On the first day of the project's launch, more than 400 books were distributed. Among them were school literature, travel guides, scientific and practical manuals.
