In the Indian state of Rajasthan, a tragic incident occurred that sparked wide discussions across all social networks. According to reports, a 15-year-old girl named Shivani Keva went to the Parvati River to fetch water when she unexpectedly suffered an attack by a crocodile.
According to police representatives, the animal firmly grabbed the girl by the arm and dragged her into the water. Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately rushed to help. They entered the river in boats and tried to drive the crocodile away, but all efforts were unsuccessful.
Police and rescue services were called to the scene. After several hours of searches, no result was achieved, so the search was stopped by evening. However, the next morning, villagers noticed Shivani’s body on the surface of the river. The deceased’s body was sent for forensic examination.
The examination revealed that the girl’s death was caused by drowning. No serious injuries were found on her body, but deep bite marks from the crocodile were identified on her arms. Later, the police handed the body over to her relatives.
In Rajasthan, rivers and reservoirs are considered the main source of water for the population. Therefore, such incidents occur from time to time. According to local scientists, crocodiles are frequently found in the region, and the risk of tragedies connected with them is quite high. In addition, a 200-million-year-old fossil of a phytosaur was recently discovered in the Jaisalmer district, clearly demonstrating the ancient nature of this region.
Experts emphasize that the population must exercise increased caution when approaching water sources and strictly follow special safety rules. Because natural dangers — from aquatic insects to predatory animals — can pose a serious threat to human life.
