NASA will launch its first manned mission to the Moon in February 2026

NASA is attracting the attention of all mankind with its next big goal - the plan to return people to the Moon. According to the agency, the "Artemis II" mission will take place in February 2026. This was originally scheduled for April, but due to the testing and technical preparation processes, the deadline was postponed by two months.

The "Artemis" program is considered a historic US project to bring humanity to the Moon and pave the way for future space planets. Its total value is billions of dollars, and this move is seen as a direct response to China's plan to land on the Moon by 2030.

"Artemis II" is the first human flight within the framework of the program. Astronauts will orbit the Moon for 10 days, but this time landing is not planned. At the same time, this mission is expected to enter history as a human flight that will go far beyond Earth's orbit for the first time since 1972.

During the mission, the astronauts will fly on NASA's 98-meter Space Launch System (SLS) missile system and the modern Orion capsule. The launch will take place from the famous Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The most important aspect is that this will be the first flight of the SLS and "Orion" with humans.

The "Artemis II" mission is an important test stage for the comprehensive "Artemis III." According to NASA's plan, astronauts are expected to land on the Moon's surface in 2027 as part of "Artemis III." At this stage, SpaceX's specially developed Starship missile system will be used.

Officials say that if the mission is successful, it will pave the way for sending people to Mars in the future. A new era may begin in human history, and "Artemis II" is seen as one of the biggest steps on this path.
