In the southeastern part of the Russian capital, a large-scale raid was carried out in dormitories, attracting public attention and sparking wide discussions. According to the Russian National Guard, more than 70 migrants were detained during the operation, which involved special OMON units “Avangard” and “Klych.”
The operation, conducted in support of the Investigative Committee, the FSB, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took place in several dormitories on Shkuleva Street. During the raid, security forces checked over one thousand foreign citizens. Out of them, 72 people were detained for violating immigration rules and military registration requirements. They were taken to police departments for additional investigation.
At present, no official information has been provided about whether citizens of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, were among those detained.
It should be recalled that on September 22 of this year, a similar incident was recorded. In the Yemelyanovsky district of Krasnoyarsk Krai, OMON officers stormed the “Korona” banquet hall, where a concert of Uzbek singer Jaloliddin Ahmadaliyev was being held, and conducted checks among migrants. At that time, measures were taken against eight Uzbek citizens: four were fined and administratively deported, while the rest were placed in a special detention center.
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Migration Agency reported that lawyers were sent to the site to protect citizens’ rights, while the Consulate General provided the necessary legal assistance.
Meanwhile, the head of the “Yuksalish” movement and deputy Bobur Bekmurodov stated that involving special forces like OMON in such situations was completely unnecessary, urging law enforcement agencies to act strictly within the law.
Experts note that such raids involving migrants in Russia are becoming increasingly frequent, and their legal basis, effectiveness, and social consequences are the subject of public debate.
