Trump: America achieves record wealth thanks to tariffs

US President Donald Trump noted that the United States is currently the richest country in the world, and the introduction of tariffs played an important role in this situation.

Talking to journalists during a flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Washington, Trump said:

"I believe that thanks to tariffs, we have become the richest country in the world, earning hundreds of billions of dollars," he said.

For information, on April 2, the US President announced the introduction of new duties on products from 185 countries and regions. Later, Trump decided to change tariff rates for some countries.
