The US Mint has started producing new commemorative coins in memory of Steve Jobs, one of the most famous figures in the tech world - the founder and inspiration of Apple. This was reported by MacDailyNews.
According to reports, the new coin design depicts Jobs's youth: against the backdrop of the Northern California mountains, he sits with his legs crossed, wearing a tie around his neck. Through this image, his simple yet strong creative spirit and philosophical attitude towards life are reflected.
The coin also features an inspiring inscription: "Do something noteworthy." This phrase is one of the mottos of Steve Jobs' entire life, reminiscent of his inspiring vision of people. According to the publication, the coin design also includes the words "United States of America," "California," and "Steve Jobs" - which confirms his legacy both scientifically and nationally.
The new commemorative coins will be available for sale on the official website of the US Mint. Each coin was set at $13.25. At the same time, small sets of four coins, collections of 25 and 100 coins are also offered for purchase.
It should be noted that American entrepreneur and inventor Stephen Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in the state of California. In 1976, he and his friend Steve Wozniak founded Apple by creating and selling personal computers. Later, he also founded NeXT and, as a major shareholder of Pixar studio, left a mark on the animation industry in Hollywood.
Steve Jobs died on October 5, 2011, but his ideas, his revolutionary approach to technology, and the slogan "think differently" still inspire millions of people today.
As a reminder, the US Treasury Department had previously announced plans to issue dollar coins featuring former President Donald Trump on the occasion of the country's 250th anniversary. Thanks to this, the tradition of perpetuating the memory of individuals who, along with national symbols, have become a source of inspiration in the country is expanding.
