
The trial of the explosion in Moscow in the summer of 2024 is ongoing. According to the investigation, the incident occurred on Sinyavinskaya Street in the capital, where a homemade mine was found under a car belonging to a colonel serving in the Russian defense system, Gazeta.ru reported.
As a result of the explosion, the serviceman and his wife received injuries of varying degrees. The damage to the surrounding buildings and vehicles is estimated at several million rubles. Investigative bodies assessed this incident as a planned terrorist act and charged it under several articles of the criminal case.
The accused is a person who worked as an analyst in a banking institution in Uzbekistan. According to the investigation, he may have been involved in the preparation of the attack and the illegal possession of explosives.
At the court hearing, he stated that he fully admitted his guilt. In his statement in court, it was noted that the accused said "I fully admit my guilt, I am ready to answer for what I have done."
It is known that law enforcement officers were chosen as victims in the criminal case, and it is said that the purpose of the attack was to physically destroy them. The investigation assessed these actions as a terrorist act directed against Russian security.
The court proceedings are being conducted openly. The court is currently at the stage of examining the evidence and questioning witnesses. The accused is charged under several articles of the Russian Federation - including "preparation for a terrorist act," "illegal trafficking of explosives," "actions that threaten public safety."
If the court finds his guilt fully proven, the accused may be sentenced to long prison terms. At the same time, according to the law, every person is considered innocent until the court verdict enters into legal force.
