A weak security system password helped steal the Louvre

Despite all claims that the Louvre was reliably protected by an internal security system, it turned out that the surveillance systems were protected by the Louvre password, and the museum's software worked on older versions of the operating system, Liberation writes.

Specialists familiarized themselves with confidential inspections of the museum's security and determined the extent of violations in its computer security. On October 19, the Minister of Culture, Rashida Dati, immediately after the shocking theft, said: "The museum's security systems did not fail." However, a few days later, this statement was amended: "the gaps in the security system did indeed exist" and emergency measures need to be taken to eliminate the gaps in the security system.

In addition to the usual Louvre password, it turned out that the data is stored in software that is not supported even by the developer and runs on the basis of Windows Server 2003. Surprisingly, violations of safety regulations and errors in the IT system became known a few years ago. Unfortunately, the "vigilant" leadership did not take any decisive measures.
