Scandal at Miss Universe: Vice President insults contestant (video)

The “Miss Universe 2025” pageant being held in Thailand began with a scandal, International Business Times reported.

On November 5, during the welcoming ceremony in Bangkok, the organization’s vice president, Nawat Itsaragrisil, publicly insulted the representative of Mexico, Melisse Flores Bosch, calling her “stupid.” The incident occurred live on air.

According to reports, the conflict arose because Melisse did not participate in a sponsor photo shoot. Nawat demanded that she explain herself in front of the cameras, but when she refused, he interrupted her, used an insulting word, and ordered security to remove her from the hall.

After that, Melisse left the venue, followed by several participants, including the 2024 Miss Universe winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig.

Later, the Mexican representative said:
“I live in the 21st century and I’m not afraid to speak up. This competition should be a place where women’s voices are heard, not a stage for dolls.”

Following the incident, the number of social media posts criticizing the “Miss Universe” organization increased. Many users noted that such behavior seriously damaged the reputation of the pageant and showed disrespect for women.
