U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new financial initiative for the country’s citizens. According to him, revenue collected from customs tariffs will be used to pay at least $2,000 to every American. Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social account.
The president emphasized that payments will be provided to all Americans except those with high incomes. He also called critics of his tariff policy “fools” and noted that customs revenue could help eliminate the national debt in a short time.
Trump believes that the United States could generate trillions of dollars in income from tariffs, which would take the country’s economy “to a new level.”
It should be recalled that in April 2025, Trump announced plans to introduce new tariffs on several countries. According to him, this measure is aimed at protecting U.S. interests and freeing the country from years of economic pressure.
