The number of unemployed in the USA has reached a record level

The situation in the US labor market is becoming increasingly difficult. According to new data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate in November of this year reached 4.6%, recording the highest figure in the last four years. According to CNN's analysis, this figure indicates that shifts in the labor market are having a serious impact on public health and economic stability.

The report notes that in November, only about 64,000 new jobs were created across the country. Although this figure is better than forecasts, the 105,000 job losses recorded in October indicate that economic growth rates are still declining. Clear unemployment figures for October were not published due to strikes and temporary shutdowns in the federal government, but November figures prove that the situation has worsened.

Experts say that the country's economy has entered a stage called the "unemployment recession." Heather Long, chief economist at the Navy Federal Credit Union, noted that new jobs have been significantly reduced over the past three months. Currently, growth is maintained only in some sectors, such as healthcare and construction, but a decline is observed in the rest of the economy.

The growth of unemployment has had a serious impact, first of all, on vulnerable segments of the population and racial minorities. In particular, it was noted that the unemployment rate among black workers increased by 8.3 percent. Analysts say that the main factor in this situation was the tariff policy introduced by the Donald Trump administration, as well as the measures taken to reduce federal state spending.

In addition, the dramatic reduction of jobs in federal agencies by the Department of Public Efficiency (DOGE) within the Trump administration also affected the situation. According to the data, 162,000 jobs were terminated in the federal sector by the end of September.

Interestingly, while unemployment is rising in the USA, in Russia, on the contrary, it was reported that the unemployment rate has reached a historical minimum. Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed this issue at an economic meeting on October 28th.
