On Wednesday, December 24, Russian forces carried out a massive airstrike on the city of Zaporizhzhia. The attacks were conducted using aerial bombs and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). This was reported by the head of the city administration, Ivan Fedorov, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the attack caused significant damage to residential buildings and resulted in injuries among civilians. Photos released by officials showed burning cars, shattered windows and doors, and destroyed balconies of multi-story buildings.
Fedorov clarified that at least four civilians sustained varying degrees of injuries. Additionally, 13 multi-story residential buildings were damaged. Later reports revealed that one more person was killed as a result of another attack in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The regional police provided further details about the attack, stating that three high-explosive aerial bombs equipped with planning and correction modules were dropped on the city. Such weapons are distinguished by their ability to target specific objectives with precision.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Force, on the night of December 24, the Russian military launched a total of 116 drones across Ukraine. Of these, 60 were either shot down by air defense or diverted from their course. However, 48 drones reached their targets, causing damage in various regions.
