After the fire tragedy, Kranz-Montana was included in the Olympics

The Swiss ski resort Kranz-Montana, where 40 people died in a horrific fire on New Year's Eve, has once again come on the agenda - this time with sports news. According to local media, Cranz Montana is listed as one of the potential hosts of the 2038 Winter Olympics.
According to RTS and other sources, a list of venues within the framework of the "Switzerland 2038" initiative has been published. Lausanne, Geneva, and Kranz-Montana were selected from the French-speaking region. Other destinations include Engelberg, Zurich, Zug, Lugano, Lenzerheide, and St. Moritz.
The project is distinguished by the fact that it relies not on a "single city," but on a decentralized model throughout the country: the idea of holding competitions based on existing infrastructure and minimizing new construction is being put forward.
The "Switzerland 2038" association is behind the initiative. According to Swissinfo, the Lausanne option for the opening ceremony and the Bern option for the closing ceremony are also being considered.
