According to Ukrainian media, Galushchenko was detained on the night of February 14-15 while attempting to cross the state border. "Ukrainskaya Pravda," citing a source in political circles, wrote that he was disembarked from the train.
According to sources, this situation occurred against the backdrop of the "Midas" case, which is cited as a major corruption scandal: border guards were asked by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to provide prompt information if they attempt to leave. On the same day, Reuters also reported that anti-corruption agencies detained the former minister at the border.
Additional details are currently limited: the investigation is ongoing, and official explanations have not been fully disclosed. Publications such as NV report that Galushchenko served as Minister of Energy from 2021 to 2025 and briefly headed the Ministry of Justice in 2025.
