The body of "El Mencho" was brought to the cemetery in a golden coffin

The body of Ruben Osegera Cervantes, known by the nickname "El Mencho," leader of Mexico's "New Generation Xalisco Cartel," was brought in a golden coffin to a cemetery in the municipality of Sapopan, Xalisco, according to the El Universal newspaper.
It was reported that the funeral procession departed on March 2 from the funeral home in Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco. It is noted that upon arrival at the cemetery, the catafalque was accompanied by an orchestra.
The funeral was held behind closed doors. According to the publication, the transportation and burial of the body were carried out in conjunction with enhanced security measures.
The cortege route and the territory of the Resinto de la Paz cemetery are guarded by federal and regional security forces. It was also reported that military personnel and armored vehicles were on duty in front of the burial bureau.
As a reminder, the Mexican Ministry of National Defense announced the elimination of the leader of the "New Generation Xalisco Cartel," Ruben Osegera Cervantes, on February 22nd.
